Job Summary

The Production Technician serves as a subject matter expert by performing equipment set-up, operation, equipment adjustments, maintaining steady material flow to machinery, as well as minor preventative maintenance tasks to meet all standards for safety, quality, and efficiency.  The Production Technician also runs tests on all assemblies and equipment to test for safety and productivity before they are placed into production.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Must be able to be trained to use and maintain all manufacturing equipment
  • Serves as subject matter expert of the manufacturing process
  • Ability to be able to properly collect and record data
  • Ability to execute experiments and tests
  • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma manufacturing practices
  • Willingness to coordinate with supervisor for job priorities, staffing, job efficiency, and continuous improvement
  • Must be able to perform simple mechanical tasks associated with trouble shooting all manufacturing equipment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of MS Word and Excel
  • Basic knowledge of SAP/MES systems
  • Willingness to work as a team leader
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Medical device and/or general manufacturing experience; ten (10) years required
  • Experience with automated manufacturing lines (robotic handling, X-ray and camera inspection systems) preferred
  • Ability to convey conclusions and recommendations concisely in properly formatted, well-written reports
